180222_9569_dancarr-Kait-Wilson-YogaHi! I’m Kait: Yukoner, nature geek, and 200-hr RYT. My love of yoga, along with my passion for ecology, are deeply rooted in the belief that all things are connected. How we breathe affects how we are able to move. What’s happening in our minds affects what’s happening in our muscles. And, how we live each day affects the living things around us. My sankalpa, or intention, is to use the tools yoga gives us, like movement and breath, to open our hearts to something bigger, to remember that wildish creature that lives in all of us, the one that loves to laugh and dance and cry and play, to rewild our hearts and rekindle connection.

We can start small: noticing the breath and moving with it, becoming more aware of the body, and practicing with intention. From this mindful action on the mat, we can find a greater openness to the people, places, and experiences around us, off the mat…to live a freer, wilder, more honest and engaged life. Howling at the moon once in awhile helps, too.

I look forward to meeting all you wildish folk on the mat! Come as you are…

A quick note on my training lineage and style: I completed my 200-hr yoga teacher training with Rebekka Walker, in Pemberton, BC, with teaching contributions from Lisa Milloy, Chantal Russell, and Natalie Rousseau. More recently, I completed a 100-hr Management & Prevention of Injuries training with Julia McCabe. My teachings were rooted in an alignment-based hatha vinyasa style, from a tantric perspective. In my classes, I aim to balance strength and openness to create room for students’ safe and creative expression, in and between poses. Lastly, I am registered with the Canadian Yoga Alliance.
